If you just want to replace it I am told that the following gearbox is a drop in replacement. I haven’t tested it myself however.

Please note: Certain years of the Wolverine & Mower King brush cutters used different length top shafts on the gear box. When you replace the brush cutter gear box it may be necessary to drill 4 holes and shift the hydraulic motor mount up to 1.5 inches further back or to cut off the top shaft of the gear box to match the one on your brush cutter.

The biggest mistake people make is not realizing the gear box on their brush cutter doesn’t have oil in it when it is shipped.

Note that it shouldn’t matter which stumper jumper or which blade you use. I list multiple options because often one or the other is sold out.

Note: There was a small batch of gear boxes made in 2024 & 2025 with a non standard shape of the 12 spline shaft. I am still trying to determine which batches of brush cutters have this issue. I haven’t been able to find any stump jumper that will fit this non-standard spline. The best option we have found in this situation is to cut the spline off of the old T-shape blade carrier and weld it to the new stump jumper.

If the castle nut attaching the blade carrier to the gearbox is damaged or worn you will need a few additional parts.
